I visited Age UK Northamptonshire, who are doing really amazing work in raising awareness of Pension Credit and the need to apply before 21st December 2024.
As you may be aware, thousands of pensioners across South Northamptonshire will lose access to the Winter Fuel Payment as a result of the Labour Government’s decision to cut this benefit. From now on, only those on Pension Credit will receive Winter Fuel Payment.
It is really important that you check whether you might be eligible for Pension Credit.
You can do this online at: apply-for-pension-credit.service.gov.uk/start
You can also call the claim line on 0800 99 1234. You’ll need the following details to hand:
• Your National Insurance number.
• Your bank account details.
• Information about your income, savings and investments.
• Information about your pension (if you have one).
• Details of any housing costs (such as service charges or ground rent) and your partner’s details (if relevant).
